TheChancePants@lemmy.world 9 months agoFF16 is one of the few FF games that isn’t open world. Actually one of the most on-rails linear games I’ve ever played. I almost find it mind-numbingly straightforward.

It’s more open than 13, and while you can move about some largish areas at will, the game’s quests push you to certain locations. You don’t do a lot of self exploration, and there aren’t a ton of icons on the map to clear out.
It’s a story first game.

Different strokes for different folks.
FF15 was big and open (for a while), but to me that was super boring.
