Seagoon_@aussie.zone 1 month agoI cleaned it a lot and did clean the scrolls extra , but I didn’t sand it much at all, it’s so full of deep scratches, holes and lost varnish it would have gone through the veneer.
It was also a trade off between restoring to original, which is not possible anyway, and taking 100 hours, or fixing it up to last a couple more decades, which took 20 hours.
It’s cast iron and weighs a bloody ton. There’s also the machine inside which probably weighs another 15 kilos.

Are you doing the decking timber next? Hehe.

those are ikea wood tiles and yes I fix them up every early summer, clean them and replace any broken ones
