What pisses me off is that these peaceful gatherings and protests have all these whacko nutjobs show up who have nothing to do with it and start causing trouble. And then the original peaceful protest gets labelled as radical and violent

Yes. This is a tactic as old as time. I would not at all be surprised if it was found out that those people actually didn’t believe in the things they say they do, and are just trying to get the protests shut down. Cops have been doing that for over a century now with union protests.
