I don’t care enough about niche old game drama to chase down the facts myself.

The person gave you a percentage range of the increase and that it applies to different currencies. You have been given the opportunity to find more info if that’s insufficient. There were no citations to back up relatively unknown claims besides digging through the comments of a reddit mega thread.
If that counts as making a good argument to anyone, I envy their free time, or worry for their information hygiene.
