Free speech. Cry harder.

Such a low effort comment, free speech is not at play here. No one is calling on the French to arrest anyone, not even the guy who got his beans over his frank.
Are you crying about other people who are crying about the last supper parody?
BobaFuttbucker@reddthat.com 3 months ago
lol someone’s triggered.
jimbolauski@lemm.ee 3 months ago
Yup I’m upset that you’re upset that other people are upset about the last supper parody.

Disrespecting art and religion seems a little different than telling 2 people they can’t get married.
Like one is potentially offensive on an emotional level, the other is trying to tell people how to live their lives. You don’t have to agree if you’d like to stay out of the conversation…… so, they seem kinda different? Don’t they?
Nobody is telling you not to enjoy your religion just because people make fun of it.

The government tells people how to live their lives all the time. Religion is a Western concept. Religion is not found in the Qur’an or the Greek Bible. Keep your deviant behavior to yourself.

The world has become decisive enough that I honestly can’t tell if this is sarcastic or not, and/or what the message is. Hahaha

Ok so I can make fun of them too then ? Because I don’t care if two dudes or chicks get married either, but now you’re saying it’s ok for me to laugh at that yes ?
ArbiterXero@lemmy.world 3 months ago
Yes!
As long as you don’t use slurs, similar to being unable to use religious slurs.
For example, my brother in law and I always joke that he should have married me instead of my sister, since we get along so well.

Here’s the thing.
I’m pretty neutral on most things. Grew up in a blue state been (and enjoyed) drag shows, exposed to all this shit before it was ‘popular’ and kicked it and hung out with my gay peeps. (I’m straight) I was around it all the time.
It was never a big deal. The fact of the matter is, you respect ppl and treat ppl the way they want to be treated.
I’m also agnostic. But if you’re religious of which ever kind, I’m going to be respectful. It doesn’t matter. It’s not always about YOU all the time.
And that’s what this ‘movement’ disregards openly. “You’re Christian!? WELL FIGGIDY FUUUUUCK YOU!!! I’M THIS!”
When no one even asked. Or even cares for that matter.
I’m constantly seeing this from this movement:
Christians: A ok to disrespect, always all the time 💯
Lgbt…: ALWAYS respect us no matter what under EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE.
Being evil to either side is wrong, that’s common sense. But here, yall pick and choose who deserves respect and who doesn’t. That’s what ppl have an issue with. That’s what I have an issue with.
