In short, it’s the characteristics that make up an organisms habitat.
That’s a niche. GP was asking about a niché. I had the same question. Something to do with this guy?

I’ve seen it both ways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Then the way you have seen it spelled with an accent is wrong. It comes from French, and in French there is no accent there.
