RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 3 weeks agoI think he wants to have input on roster construction. In college he recruits and picks the players who comes to play for him. In NBA it’s the GM who does this.

He’s wants input or he wants to be the GM, there’s an important difference there. A coach having input is normal, a coach wanting to be the GM or having final say isn’t. If it’s the latter then it’s just not a good fit for either side.
