As Lemmy’s resident Barbie expert, that’s fake news.
In Barbieland, they are called “brine prawns”.
“Barbie”, now available on Blu-ray and select streaming services.

So… are you still saying you won’t do a sequel or have you caved to billions of dollars’ worth of pressure?

That’s Academy Award winning actress Margot Robbie and she does not cave to money.
But a sequel would be cool…

Like for example, “Barbie 2: The Search for More Brine Prawns”.

One hopes not since Gerwig likely wouldn’t be involved and Robbie and Gosling didn’t sign a multi-picture deal.
I think a sequel with a really good idea behind it might be cool, but some stories should be one and done and I don’t really know that any more needs to be said with live-action Barbie.
Meanwhile, Mattel has licensed 14 other properties for movies.

Yeah, I’m not against sequels in principle. Sometimes I just want to have another trip to whichever world the movie takes place. Barbie though… I love that movie, but I really don’t see any way to make any sort of sequel and have it be good.
