    They’re buying them because they can be claimed as a “work vehicle”, but used like a family sedan.

      It’s definitely for looks. In Nz you’re not limited the same for claiming as ‘work vehicle.’ I’ve driven Toyota Corollas and Mazda 6s as work vehicles which are better vehicles in terms of boot (trunk) size, so this is definitely a ‘look at my big car’ thing.
