As a trans person, I fucking hate Elon Musk. But as a chaos magician, I gotta take his side on this debate. Mainstream scientific publications wonât take research thatâs sufficiently âsillyâ or âesotericâ, and magic falls under these even when the scientific method is used. Now, many people have published works on chaos magic such as books, but not so much with publishing in reputable scientific journals.

Google the tautological denial of magic and then tell me how Randiâs prize doesnât rely on it.

Randi doesnât need to rely on it.
The only thing he has to do is explain how the magic trick works.

An ollie is a trick. Debunk an ollie for me.

âTautological denial of magicâ seems like a total misunderstanding of the scientific method. If you know thereâs something âmagicalâ you still can study itâs effects on the real world.
Like someone here already commented, this is what we do in case of medical studies, âhow good does this thing work compared to something that gives the illusion of workingâ, the same can be done for whatever you define as your âmagicâ.

Yes, exactly. And thatâs what chaos magic is. Taking the scientific method to magic. The tautological denial says magic canât be real, because if itâs real then itâs not magic. But no, magic is real and we can explain it and quantify it and use the scientific method on it.
