Are you sure they are doing it Pro bono ? Where'd you hear this ? The thing with the crowdfunding is that his old lawyers Pierce tried to steal the money.
Lin Wood and his "caretaker" during the trial controlled the money in the name of the family, and it was kind of shady according to Barnes. Shady lawyers might be happy to lie to the family, make them fight a losing case to pocket the donations. It would be a big loss for the kid.

Its pretty normal in these cases for the lawyers to only get paid if they win. He would have to be a complete retard to up front pay them to sue.

Immediately after his case, he gave an interview on Tucker where he said his lawyers Wood and Pierce had kept him in jail for months, "for his safety".
The kid's a teenager. He has been hounded by vultures from day 1. I just hope he can get something like a normal life at this point. Hopefully his wish to become a lawyer and a state prosecutor comes true, so he can kick out scum like Little Binger.

I don't. He's a hero. If he wants a million dollars all he has to do is set up a PayPal or bitcoin address and ask for it.
He should never need to work again.

He did the right thing. That does make him a hero.
But he's also human, and a teenager. A cocaine addict with a million dollars is a dead man. Many lottery winners end up homeless or dead. Showering a teen with millions is very often going to destroy their lives.
He should work, follow his dreams and become a lawyer and state prosecutor. Fight for real justice and fix the system, so that others are not dragged through the mud like he was.
