The point of Lemmy is federation. If it doesn’t solve your needs, then it’s your responsibility to make the decision if it’s a healthy ecosystem for yoy, and if you should keep using it or not.

If the point was federation then defederation wouldn’t be an option.
Defederation is a tool available to instances to protect the greater fediverse
