splatt9990@lemmy.ml 1 month agoThe doomsday clock is symbolic with the minutes (or seconds) to midnight symbolizing how close we are to doomsday. Traditionally, that has meant nuclear war, but I believe more recently, they’ve factored in climate change

Feel free to correct if I’m wrong, but my understanding is basically an attempt at accounting for all civilization-collapsing-level catastrophic event. Maybe not global, but massive-scale
