Too smart for the game/industry and he’s focused on family now. Majorly talented compared to most dudes doing it today. He’s not a drill/trap star so he was never gonna blow up like the other kids (Travis, pump, uzi).

I think this is bullshit, no offense. This is a very common sentiment as to why someone’s favourite artist isnt big. The man had cosigns from Dre and co. but he inderdelivered on his album, too many soft tunes.
Covid impacting him is legitimate but saying he doesnt fit the mold because he is lyrical or not mumbling is some low hanging fruit.

You said it yourself. “Too many soft tunes”. Majority of people aren’t gonna appreciate something that’s not mainstream. No offense to other artists, just saying that he’s doing it differently than what the kids are buying these days. They want beats. Not lyrics.

Yeah that is fair but I mean Anderson Paak, JID and plenty of others are putting on content thatbisnt mumble or drill all the while running a heavy buzz.
That said I checked his monthly listeners, he isnt behind by any means but I just felt he got a huge buzz for a few months years ago and I dont hear anything anymore.

Agree with this. His biggest problem is that he’s not chasing fame or a sound.
