Some of the special effects for the gorn babies were one plate of curry away from being right at home in 1980s Red Dwarf. Oh how I cringed!

But a great episode.

In season 1 they used a lot of practical effects (i.e. puppets) for the Gorn babies and then layered CG atop. They may have done the same here.
