Comment on Britain Is Leaving the U.S. Gender-Medicine Debate Behind

The appropriate response to an authority is other authorities. An even better response is a consensus of authorities. And even then, a consensus can be wrong, and so we should accept their conclusions as the best explanation until additional evidence is uncovered the is definitive. I mean, you should know this, being high IQ, well educated, and all.

Then cite authorities of his caliber. I’ve never seen anyone be so dismissive of osterholm who is considered the expert of experts in the field. Hm
Since I’m educated I also know you did some weird AI search that pulled up discredited studies.

There are two sayings I’m fond of regarding authorities:
I don’t even care about my authorities, let alone any that you offer. I’m more concerned with what is the true and morally uplifting. And since there was once a group of highly educated authorities that once believed washing your hands was unnecessary and killed a bunch of people as a result, which demonstrates that even the most educated group of authorities can be wrong, I’ll maintain my position.
I don’t care that he’s an authority. And I don’t think he’s wrong. Rather, I think his analysis is incomplete. There is evidence that cloth masks work. They may not be as effective as N95s and respirators, but that’s doesn’t mean their wholly ineffective, which is the conservative stance.
Being so smart all and, maybe you should look outside of authorities you agree with and see what they have to say and why.

There is zero evidence cloth mask work. He explains why those studies are flawed and field trials have shown they don’t work. In the real world, they showed no benefit.
I’ve read dozens of studies on the topic. No study before Covid ever showed a cloth mask as being effective for a viral protection. It’s been studied in hundreds, if not thousands of studies.
Instead oddly using an AI search, link the best study you think proves your case that a cloth mask will protect against COVID.

I had a long, drawn out response to this, but it’s all beside the point: science is just a way for some people to universalize their opinions and beliefs, rather than as a tool for the pursuit of truth or as an input into making truly informed decisions about the future.
So, what we do with this study on transgender medical issues is separate from what it says…or doesn’t say,
