TheImpressiveX@lemmy.ml 3 weeks agoThat’s PVOD (premium video-on-demand) which is different from streaming. With PVOD, you pay a one-time price of $29.99 to watch it on iTunes, Amazon Prime, etc.
Though in my opinion, if you’re gonna pay $29.99 for a digital file, you might as well wait for the physical.

Oh agreed 100%. Only way I would pay 30 is to have a copy of the file in perpetuity. At that, streaming also isn’t going to be the same stream off the Blu-ray, so lower quality at that (perceptible or not)
