My sister worries that she spoils her dog but I explain that animals aren’t children, we aren’t supposed to be raising them into well adjusted people who need to go out on their own into the world. They’re just pets, we keep them for companionship and joy, and giving them simple pleasures and seeing them happy is the point.

Not to be confused with training pets tho.
You can still have a trained dog that you spoil with some things.
For example: serve steak to your dog that’s not allowed in the kitchen. So they sit patiently at the edge drooling away.
