I totally agree with you. All of our dogs are rescues (and we adopt the old ones, so we’ve had quite a few over the years). So please don’t take this post as condoning dog breeding. Spay and neuter, people!

FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 months agoThere are way, way, way too many abandoned and neglected dogs in this world. It makes me so sick to see them. And so many people think things like their dog will be upset if they don’t have testicles.
My mother thought it would be “fun” to breed her dog. I was, thankfully, able to talk her out of it.
We’ll never stop all dog breeding, nor should we, but we should slow it way down.

My two doodles are spayed and neutered because as much as I love my two girls, there are already too many dogs you can go out and rescue
