This why no progress is ever made.
Republicans strip regulations, and we’re supposed to be grateful when neoliberals take almost an entire term just to reinstate them.
The regulations weren’t even enough to begin with, and the situation is even worse now.
It’s better than nothing, but nowhere close to enough.

Like, that’s the whole point, republicans break more shit, and Dems have been fixing less.
The result is things keep getting worse.

A lot is getting better; we’re seeing a continued coal phase-out for example.
It’s not everything we need yet, but a long ways from getting worse right now.

I think it’s more that the republicans have been breaking a lot more shit and breaking it more thoroughly than ever before so it takes more work and effort to fix things. It’s always easier to break something than to fix it.
