Really ? I had no idea.
Do you mean in the sense that people get to see the extreme left peddling their mental illnesses ? If so, that's really true. The amount of cringe they produce daily is a major turnoff to sane humans.

I mean like right / independent vids with lots of likes views and comments
general useful info with the same, like things we might post on here
they do censor a little tho for sure and are bad about privacy - would love a fediverse alternative that gains traction#

Thx for letting me know. I had no idea. I thought TikTok was filled with crazy radical liberals.
Will keep an eye out for the kind of content you say is there. Very interesting.

oh ok, yeah for sure! I have seen some people who were genuinely unaware of this which is partly why I wanted to comment.
There are lots of leftists there too, but the algorithm just feeds you whatever you view, so you won't get lots of them unless you view their stuff and comment on it.
I've seen some people who have just understandably avoided it because of its bad privacy policies, but then they developed views of the platform that are not accurate.
Content-wise there really is a huge variety of good stuff on there and it can be addictive in a good way.
Again, I am mostly against it, but I acknowledge that it's a compromise - some people feel they can trade some privacy to consoom certain content or be able to get a message out there more.
This is from 2019 and it's only grown since then:

tons of ideas that I thought I was only finding online with smaller groups of people maybe a decade ago, some zoomers (it's really people of all ages) rushing full steam ahead on spreading to thousands of people
I saw for example a patriots.win unofficial account that had thousands of views - to me that's kind of a huge boost to reddit alternatives
