Once you get into the red states things get waaaaaay more sparse. Most of it is desert.

It’s pretty easy.
The cities you named are the most populous in the state.
The rest of the state is largely desert, rural, and where you see a lot of the confederate flags and similar sentiment among the population.

The state isn’t as blue as you think. It’s a common misconception from people who don’t live here.
