neurospice@lemmy.dbzer0.com āØ9ā© āØmonthsā© agoWater got into it. It kept popping and had smoke pop out of it each time (one time fire). It had melted a bunch of plastic and despite being dry it would keep smoking, so thatās why we got an electrician. Itās no longer smoking so I guess it wasnāt completely dry last I checked. I did also clean the socket myself as it had a bunch of grease(?) and weird gunk inside it, so maybe that helped?
Is it safe as it is right now?
Hahaha, probably not. Itās a power outlet next to the sink and it has huge gaps where it meets the tile wall. Donāt know how this is the first time I got water in it, but itāll probably happen again at some point.

Crikey, is that even legal in this day and age? Iām guessing your REA/landlord arenāt very big on codes, based on what you were saying yesterday but come on - that seems like every type of hazard I can think of. Fire hazard, electrocution hazard, probably a pest hazard, since thereās a gap between the wall and itās right next to the sink thatās probably also a mild hazard
