PureBloodMasculine@wolfballs.com 2 years agoI get the need to cook but I am not as worried about electricity as I am clean water. I have about 220 gallons of water stored up plus life straws. It's probably not enough but it should help for a while.

What do you mean ? I live close to a river, so maybe your situation is different.
For water, I can put together a basic gravel, activated filter to remove large particles. I can just boil it after that.
You can also disinfect water by just putting it in a plastic bottle out in the sun. Although if there is a nuclear winter.......
I think I will get some copper jars to passively disinfect the water as well.

That should get you by but pollution is an issue. Unless there is a natural spring on your property, I wouldn't like the idea of drinking from a river everyday unless it was distilled. Sure you can kill parasites, and bacteria but what chemicals are in it. Of course, I don't trust tap water either. That's the thing I probably worry too much about. In a survival situation I'll do what I have to do to stay alive. There are creeks nearby but it's far enough that it would be very cumbersome for me to haul everyday. I'd probably do it occasionally for appearances though. From what I read about Bosnia if things are bad enough going out for any reason could get you killed. I'd just rather have what I need in my home already. Too bad I don't have a well but even the ground water they say its getting polluted.

Yes, you are right about pollution, esp heavy metals. I have that in mind.
I also have several large lakes nearby. None of them are near factories.
