I also don’t get them on Jerboa. What instance are you on? I think that communities wont show up in your instance unless someone has already accessed them. If you search directly for the ones in the post above, they should show up. I think you have to put an exclamation mark in front of the term. E.g.
!weather@community.xy

I am subscribed to Lemmy.world instance and I still don’t have weather@lemmy.world show in search results.
Looks like another Lemmy App is in order.
You could post a bug on the Jerboa community. It might be known and have a fix out soon. I think most apps have their own quirks. Either way, let me know if you have any success.
Discovery on Lemmy is still in its infancy. Lots of friction. When you do a search for a community, you’re only searching your home instance, so if your home instance is never been subscribed or connected to those other communities they won’t be returned in your search. So that’s something that’s going to have to improve to make Lemmy more general user friendly

I stopped using Jerboa because of search issues. Liftoff and Voyager (wefwef) are the best so far for my use.
