shneancy@lemmy.world 5 months agoadditionally I exclusively use local windows accounts. Passwords are to keep your nosy parents, partners, or kids away from your machine, if a hacker has physical access to your computer it’s jover, no amount of microsoft accounts will save you

I was recently refurbishing a laptop for a friend and I got frustrated that I had to make sure it doesn’t connect to internet during the OS setup or I’d have to start the install over again. Online accounts only stop forgetful owners from getting in, does nothing helpful.
