For me it’s better If a foreign country knows my Habits since they are less likely to sell my Data to the domestic fascists.

If the Data is collected at Home the fascist only needs to be elected. And to do that they only needs the favor of the biggest national News outlet

For me it’s better to not have random unsecured devices on my home network rolling out the red carpet to any malicious actors, foreign or domestic.

    Keeping it in the homelab defeats the point. I could do separate vlans and route traffic but something like jellyfin is a better option all around.
    
    These boxes are aimed at people who barely know what a network is, they just want to plug it in and watch. No config, no hassle, it’ll de facto be on the same network as their laptops and phones.
