Comment on I made a post poking fun at how bad a Pro-AI image was, and naturally people crashed out at the sight of AI

I hate that fucking cat.

I post so much, I see it often because I don’t actively check images apart from squinting at them, and using reverse image look up to check dates - the latter is useless for new memes. I literally learned how to check with zerogpt like a week ago.

I get the sentiment of not wanting AI, honestly. Finding out something is fake after the fact sucks, though and diminishes it. Sometimes a post is still funny after the fact though.

It’s wild what people are actively faking with AI though.

I am all for calling out AI, but for whatever reason, the cats really bother me. To be clear, I have nothing against the funhole art style or anything. But something about the cats in particular is just frustrating, and I can’t put my finger on what my problem is with it. I genuinely don’t understand my own contradiction here.

  I’m also on the same page as you. Why the cat? I think for me it’s maybe the way he’s illustrated (unlike for you). I realize it’s a contradiction, but whatever.

    I get why someone may dislike that art style. It’s intentionally a bit unsettling, so I understand that someone may not be able to appreciate it. But no, not liking a particular art style doesn’t make it a contradiction.

  And plastered absolutely everywhere, even on posts where it isn’t obvious it’s AI. Saw one where I decided to do a reverse image search and saw results from 2018.

    If it was @dontbelievethis@sh.itjust.works who commented the cat for a non-AI image, they’ve admitted they were just commenting it randomly on purpose as bait
