I saw it as a joke about how everything is performative and now that the tides are shifting in another direction companies will throw the rainbow flag on their twitter account and companies will be ‘inclusive’ and ask employees to add pronouns again. Just like how when the tides go the other way it will all be removed.
It’s like pink washing. The same meme could be made in February but with a pink gun telling the crying guy to make the cheerio box pink again. They do it and almost no, or literally no, proceeds go to breast cancer research. Just a performative lie.
But anyways in real life most people I’ve met or misgendered of fucked up a pronoun for don’t really give a shit. I try because it feels like the right thing to do in the same way I wouldn’t call someone Nick who goes by Nicholas.
I am interested as to you saying that a personal identity doesnt define us. My gut kinda says that our personal identity is the literal self definition of ourselves. But maybe looking in to “Identity” more deeply is something fun I could do. Feels like one of those words that we have a hazy emotional cloud in our minds that we refer to, but rarely hammer down. Kinda like ‘love’, it’s got a million definitions across a million people.

And you sound like a low effort troll. Grow up.

So none of you who are either down voting or responding childishly to me are willing or able to provide a reasoned answer? Are you reacting defensively because you think anyone who asks these questions is automatically a troll or a conservative or worse? I’m none of those things and yet none of you seem able to see beyond that.
