Comment on Coelacanth's Steam NextFest Report

I played both Roottrees are Dead and Incident at Galley House earlier in the year and have been keen for more deduction-based puzzlers. Also played and loved Obra-Dinn when it came out so anything in that vein holds an immediate appeal for me.

Great picks, I’m really excited about those two.
I haven’t gotten to Galley House yet, I’ll play it with family over Christmas I think. Was it good?
And if you are fiending for more deduction games you might want to check out Dupery that just released. I’ve heard some really glowing endorsements and seen some gameplay. Looks very good, although quite difficult once you get into it.

I enjoyed Galley House but not as much as Roottrees, although I think I’m in the minority there. The supernatural conceit of the game took me out of it a little bit and the way the story unfolds, while incredibly clever and satisfying in many ways, didn’t lead to the same draw to uncover every little thing for me. Don’t get me wrong though, it is an absolutely stellar game and one you should absolutely play if you like that kind of puzzler.
Another game I literally just heard about along the same lines is called Message from Deep Space and looks fantastic. The puzzles/deduction seems more like Chants of Senaar though, if you’re familiar with that game.
I’ll check out Dupery - never heard of it!

I’m looking forward to Galley House then, that sounds really good!
Message From Deep Space looks interesting (and I did notice the Overwhelmingly Positive reviews), but I am a bit hesitant it’s a bit too math heavy for me (not my forte or favourite). Might be a good recommendation for my brother in law, though! Thanks for the rec!
