Essence_of_Meh@lemmy.world 1 day agoIt’s a vibe coded project built on Daggerfall Unity, with a bunch of “improvements” and original additions (like a Dwemer shotgun). They also already have an active Patreon and Ko-fi which apparently aren’t enough for their AI tokens so this was the next logical step, I guess.

That was just my guess to be clear. The official line is that the playerbase grew too fast and they need more funds to pay for servers. Whether you believe that or not is up to you but it’s worth mentioning to avoid acting purely on conjecture.
