Comment on How can I spot and avoid AI videos?

I think we’re at the point where trying to identify things as specifically AI-generated is becoming too difficult to be worth it, i’d say just start generally filtering out things that aren’t made in good faith.
I’ve been judiciously telling youtube to not recommend me channels that post sensationalized/inflammatory/etc content whenever they show up in my recommendations, and the algorithm has mostly given up on trying to brainwash me at this point.
My rule of thumb is that anything that isn’t borderline fucking boring is probably trying to manipulate me, if a dry wikipedia-style description isn’t interesting then i see no reason to bother with it.

There are many news commentators I generally enjoy but EVERY SINGLE VIDEO has a headline about some person getting destroyed or how “it’s over” for them.
I just want like, 20-30 minutes coverage of whatever happens to be the most interesting & important stuff without a whole bunch of bullshit fluff. I’ve stopped watching news on YT in general because of this and just stick to the content that knows it’s slop i.e. video game challenge runs lmao.

I’ve gotten a bit hooked on Trey The Explainer and Tor’s Cabinet Of Curiosities because they’re basically just a dude talking about their hyperfixation for 40 minutes. Podcast++
