Malica@lemmy.zip 1 day agoIt’s a manosphere thing. Those guys play on the insecurity of the morons and height is one of the major paths they can take. It’s something that the person can’t change, therefore has the highest chance of keeping them watching until they’re radicalized.

I don’t think so. Dating apps are loaded with women asking for tall. Workplaces are filled with senior positions favouring not just talent, skill and merit, but height.
Researchers have validated the predisposition to favouring height many times. A quick search can find them. This is way older than manosphere.
As a tall white man of moderate merit, I’ve been more successful in career and love than merit justifies. Just like white privilege is a thing, so is tall.
