Look, we are all nerds here, and nerd-to-nerd this is a terrible response that isn’t going to land like lead balloon. Literally “your mom took it out on you as an infant” would land better than this

  I mean I’d say that’s too simplistic and also isn’t a threat/challenge. That doesn’t call their bluff, thus its passive, signals weakness.
  
  My approach is to try to out troll the troll, yours is more or less literally ‘your mom’, which, why would you even bother writing anything?; this will just insult the troll in terms of it being a low effort attempt at a clapback.

    I wrote a whole thing, but this clearly was a playful punch in the arm. If you just punch them back, you can have a laugh. Responding with “lol” would defuse more than trying to be intellectual in your comeback
