My parents, unironically: “You’re on some kind of device basically all the time, so you might as well put that time to good use and capitalize on it.”
i needed to justify myself for almost everything i did during my education, just because they don’t get what i do why. and i have a PhD in physics… but fundamental research is not particularly profitable.
Damn, didn’t think parents can be chill like that.
