silence7@slrpnk.net 2 years agoHe slowed the rate of health care cost increases, and got ~9% of the population which couldn’t get insurance to be able to get it. This is incredibly visible in a graph of coverage rates over time:
The Democrats also took advantage of their supermajority to raise the minimum wage from $5.85/hour to where it is today.

It’s hard to pretend that this is actually a good thing in a country where that only matters if you can absorb being price gouged, and tens of millions of Americans can’t.
Only if you can absorb being price-gouged for it, and tens of millions can’t afford a sudden bill.
And they haven’t done anything since, for which they deserve full credit, especially when homelessness grew by 12% last year.
I’m not trolling. I’m just not willing to pretend that the Democrats are doing anything meaningful at this point.

As I said above, it takes a 60/100 supermajority in the Senate. They haven’t had that since then.
What you’re doing is saying “because people didn’t elect enough Democrats, the Democrats are to blame, so don’t vote for them.”

You’re wrong. Rules can and have been changed.
I am rightly crediting Democrats for prioritizing stupid things over their campaign promises, and don’t be surprised when democrats are rightly held accountable in the fall.
