Comment on Do the major leagues have insurance for their players for life? If they get hurt on the field and it's something that will never go away? Or do they just cut the player and not worry about it?

It’s hard to give a blanket answer because it varies from league to league. The NWSL does provide health and life insurance to all players under the current CBA and the league does cover injuries that take place on the pitch. Similarly, if a player takes an extended absence for maternity, they continue to draw their salary. Other leagues have other policies, generally determined by what their players’ union has been able to negotiate.
