Comment on Dexcom is holding health access hostage for diabetic users

Pretty girl stirring up a fuzz linking her insta. Totally legit.
Apps can’t trace browsing history, at least not on non-jailbroken iphones (showing in the screenshot). She’s feeding off digital illiteracy to drive up the likes of her channel.

Look up how much data fucking McDonalds has on you, without you ever eating their food.
Shortstack@reddthat.com 1 day ago
Holy shit, I searched about McDonalds data collection out of curiosity and found that they make 500+ page dossiers on their loyalty app customers
This is some truly dystopian bullshit

This is relevant how?

Really?

Yeah they can, they use fingerprinting.
I do agree that she is pretty though. But, that isn’t really relevant here.

No man, you’re the illiterate one here. The phone is irrelevant. I worked in the ad industry, this profile shit is real. Phones metadata simply means a device I’d so they can knowingly tie you to what the other massive personality graphs have on you rather than guessing. They don’t need your browsing history, they already have it. If not from a device then through the apps, if not the apps then the sites themselves.
These companies already have a profile on all of us built. This is simply another company offering their data so huge data aggregators can directly connect it with everything else you do. Not only browsing, but gaming, social media, when you use your computer, travel sites, they even have presence detection in stores to track if their ad worked. This is already the reality we live in.

Worked in ads myself, seen the tech, developed it. This chick is baiting. If the glucose company is doing this they aren’t going to suddenly update their T&S blocking you out of their stuff, because they were already doing it, as you say they already have it. And not through the method she’s described, which is impossible, but indeed through the ever surviving meta and google cross site traching, which again is something iPhone is particularly good at blocking by rotating your ip for free for you.
Anyway, I’m sure you’ll disagree and the outrage voting will want her story to be true, and she did so much work on her makeup and the lighting, but I guarantee she’s fishing for clicks.
scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech 1 day ago
This entire comment thread is weird, so you more or less agree with me, and agree that it’s something they have, but are upset because she’s doing it for clicks. We’re arguing semantics of the implementation, when the main jist is correct, they’re selling client data and many users probably are unaware, which then the problem is that the users probably should be bluntly aware of it. Which leads me to why is she doing it for clicks? I think a bigger question is if this was a man who was trying to raise awareness, would the assumption have been the same, that they were doing it for clicks, or awareness? I don’t know man, I’m getting some weird vibes from this thread.
