Not a cult, just a good old-fashioned charlatan.
People like him have been claiming to have mystical powers of insight for millennia, and there’s always someone dumb enough to pay for it.

Although the star origin has been pretty popular basis for many recent exceptionalist cults.
Some of them seem pretty cool, until you inevetably discover who the descendents of the bad aliens are supposed to be. First correct tip gets an upvote!
