Still not really clear what their tech is or how they got it done so fast.

EGS is essentially using fracking techniques to make deep, hot rock more porous to turn water into steam more efficiently. In this case, they likely have former O&G people on staff for whom waiting 23 months from first drill to production is actually glacial.
