Goblins are pretty popular right now, The only thing this image and this comic share is the fact that there’s goblins in it in a typical goblin setting.

I usually don’t come in here to shit on AI slop because that’s your whole comm but ffs this is clearly plagiarizing this very cute webcomic, so if anyone wants to actually engage with the works used without consent of the creator this was clearly trained on, I highly recommend this wonderful comic series. It’s also educational!

The teeth, the angle, shape, and proportion of the ears and head, the skin tone, the shape of the mouth, I literally thought it was the comic when I saw the thumbnail.

The ears are a different shape and don’t redden towards the end. The eyes are feature pupils, where the web-comic’s do not. The skin is a different hue of green with no red blush. The mouth is a convention borrowed straight from anime, originating from neither. Orange is a complimentary color for green, so it doesn’t surprise that they’d both share that as they look good together. The heads are different shapes with differing proportions for the eyes, mouth, and nose. The noses are different shapes too. Not to mention the comic has a very flat presentation with brighter colors and simpler backgrounds.

How is that a problem? You think someone who would like this image would not be interested in a goblins webcomic? If anything it’s a good opportunity to share a link like you just did.

Sure I just also think it’s an example of the omnipresent scraping of artists original work. Such that would not be seen here except for me pointing to the obvious fact this image was generated without credit to the artist whose work this is very obviously aping.

We all know diffusion models and LLMs were built by scraping the internet. This isn’t anything new. But what exactly is the harm in this specific scenario?
Even_Adder@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 week ago
These two images aren’t similar, they just share a subject matter.

You are just in denial at this point I’d what to say. You can’t deny these models are trained by scraping the internet for art without consent and to say they aren’t even similar is just ai booster brain denialism.
