PancakesCantKillMe@lemmy.world 4 days agoWe know a few people that use this pithy phrase. I completely agree that the saying is sort of a cop-out. Accepting the situation (presumably), whatever it is, without seeking a better or more palatable solution. It isn’t always a serious issue, but certainly don’t capitulate if it is.

It’s the common retort of middle managers whenever subordinates complain about upper management. God forbid that you actually advocate for change, much easier to just keep your head down and accept a managerial paycheck.
