usernamesAreTricky@lemmy.ml 2 days agoEven with subsidies, it’s still cheaper if you compare to whole-plant based diets and real world spending data. It’s only the pre-made plant-based meats and similar that are more expensive because they don’t yet have the same economies of scale
Seems like you are from Italy based on your instance? Studies have found overall costs lower in Italy for plant-based diets

Yeah in Italy overall the price of meat is higher than plants but where i live, if i compare the quantity of meat and plants needed for a full meal, they are almost at the same prices especially where i live since we have plenty of meat to export anyway, the point was not about me but about others, i could prolly be vegetarian with little problems (not vegan, i could not) but I am not very healty so i’d rather not gamble with what i eat too
