I have a few thoughts.

-For the small DIY boats that are a risk. This doesn’t look like one. It looked more like a professionaly built craft. Perhaps it’s stolen or bought on the cheep but traffickers don’t like cutting into there profits for safety or sustainability.

-it doesn’t look like anyone is on it other than someone in full rescue gear. There is something on the floor but it doesn’t even look like life jackets. Where are the migrants?

• for a small boat it’s really small. I could see traffickers putting 30 people on that. The boats themselves are one way and seen as disposable and the trend is for bigger boats. Unless there is a change in tactic or they can’t get the inflatibal tubes this doesn’t make sense anymore?

The best way to “stop the boats” is to allow asylum applications while not on British soil. So they can take a ferry or a plane. It’s a catch 22 if you are in France but want to get to the UK.
