Public housing started changing in the 80s I think when a lot of it was sold off and it became welfare housing. Remember his mother died in 2002. For most of her life public housing was affordable housing for working families.

That’s a good point, I think the key detail here is that for everyone born in the late 80s onwards will have a very different picture of social housing to those born before the changes
