I wouldn’t worry about it. The difference in efficiency is negligible.

Not in the US.
US dishwashers run on a 15 Amp circuit so don’t have a preheat for the first wash. The heater is too slow.

How does that change anything in any meaningful way?
The difference between the hot tap and the cold tap is peanuts compared to the difference of hot tap to dishwasher’s hot.
It’s not even all that more efficient- unless you ignore the water heater’s energy use. There is, though some reason to hook up to the cold side any ways- water heaters can get nasty and the water in them is soaking in that nastiness.
