The parents didn’t get right up at me, they were just agitated and making calls/circling the area.

I’ve never actually had a problem with plovers despite plenty of stories from others about how aggressive they can be, similarly I’ve had magpies fly past and click their beaks near me a few times during their season but I’ve never had them go past that. I feel like a lot of the time people just get panicked when a bird starts trying to make a point.
