I’m pretty convinced that Florida and DeSantis are holding off on implementing a state income tax because their coffers are taking a hit from tourism. The whole state is artificially cheaper to run because of it and they are losing billions. cbsnews.com/…/florida-tourism-numbers-decline-aga… doesn’t spell it out as well as it could, but they’ve lost over a quarter million travlers and $50B

www.jec.senate.gov/…/jec-report-on-tourism.pdf paints a pretty grim picture for the US Overall, but with Florida shedding 2.2% of jobs on the heels of the COVID tourism impact, the state is on thin ice tax-wise.
