I’ve talked to a number of people (and have family) with both single and dual knee/hip replacements - some in their 40’s.
It’s shocking how effective it is, and how much function they have - pretty much back to normal in weeks. All of them were outpatient surgeries - where they’re expected to walk immediately after surgery (it’s part of their rehab to move the joint immediately).
I had no idea until very recently this is how it works today. I was stunned at the progress that’s been made.

Unfortunately this runs in my family and it’s past my turn. But there are enough family members affected to make it really stand out how important it is to walk immediately and follow through with PT. Those that do are more mobile than they had been for years. Those who don’t, never get their mobility back
