dogfoodeater@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 week agoA few years ago I had the bright idea to just use dishwasher powder for regular washing up. The cast iron pan kept needing to be reseasoned until I stopped doing that. I think that stuff might still have lye, or at least something harsh enough to mess up cast iron.

Dishwasher grit is abrasive when it it is dry. I guess I assumed it was saturated into the water before it was sprayed on dishes but I dont really know.
I use it to clean my bathtub. It works great, hope I’m not destroying anything
